Violence Against Women

Violence against women is considered a major public health problem and a violation of the rights of women. According to the World Health Organisation, violence against women mostly includes sexual violence which includes rape and intimate partner violence which is also referred to as domestic violence. 
Global estimates published by WHO indicate that about 1 in 3 (35%) of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime.
In addition, 30% of ever-partnered women globally have experienced physical or sexual violence by a partner in their lifetime.
