Medical Outreach to RCCG Prince of Peace parish.
By Kemi Adebamowo.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Prince of Peace parish in collaboration with LCI successfully conducted a medical outreach on the 13th of March 2021.
It is a great joy to share this medical update with our donors/sponsors, well-wishers and members. It was a memorable event, in conjunction with The Redeemed Christian Church of God (Prince of Peace Parish), Lagos state. The LCI medical team provided investigations including blood pressure checks, fasting blood sugar, breast screening. In addition, each child was dewormed.
The meeting started with health talk delivered by Dr. Moyosore Makinde, a medical practitioner, family physician and a Lifestyle Medicine physician & coach.
She advised on how our lifestyle choices is a significant determinant factor for the future. “Our body is the temple of God and we must do right to control what goes in and out of it”. She stressed on the kind of food we eat, what we drink, the exercise we engage in, the hours of sleep observed per day, and how it affects her personal lifestyle. As a lifestyle coach and physician, she expressed her joy in educating others on adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The medical team consisted of 8 LCI members across all professions; Medical doctors, a Dentist, a Pharmacist and IT personnel. The program was held in the RCCG church auditorium between 9.00am and 2.00pm. Covid-19 protocols were duly observed.
In attendance were about 30 persons excluding children, the majority of them being middle-aged women. The response to the outreach was highly appreciated and this brought so much happiness to our hearts.
