Emotional & Mental Wellness: Accessing Care following Sexual Assault
April 22, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 9:15 pm
Free
Sexual and Gender-based violence has taken a front-seat in our clime, involving both young and old persons as well as the illiterate and well-versed intellectual persons. This has led to poor mental and emotional health status of women as well as predisposition to chronic medical conditions and sometimes, premature deaths. Many victims stay silent on the subject matter because of stigmatization and for those going through domestic violence, the belief that, “This won’t last forever”.
We need to ask what facilities are available for those who have gone through sexual assault so that they will know exactly where to go after experiencing sexual violence. Do they still have go back and remain a prey to their abuser? Where can they run to? How can they avoid falling into depression and developing other emotional or mental health disorders? Can victims rise above the violence and most importantly above the culture of SILENCE?
Lifestyle Champions International in line with its vision and objectives hereby invites you to this Online Panel Discussion which is geared towards motivating victims of such violence to seek care promptly and appropriately. Together, let us break the silence.
